Parents and guardians of children due to start school for the first time in September 2016 have just 2 more weeks to apply for reception class places.

The window for applications for reception places at infant and primary schools in Wolverhampton closes on Friday 15 January, 2016, and families are being urged to complete theirs as soon as possible.

Councillor Claire Darke, the City of Wolverhampton Council's Cabinet Member for Education, said: "If they haven't already done so, parents or guardians of children who are due to start school in September 2016 should set aside time now and select the preferred schools they wish their child to attend.

"This is one of the most important decisions they can make for their child's future. The application process is straightforward and should only take a few minutes to complete, but it is very important that parents complete their applications by the deadline of 15 January, 2016, as applying after this time could have a detrimental effect on their chances of securing a place at one of their preferred schools."
