Wolverhampton's libraries will be marking Health Information Week with a host of events early next month.

They cover a wide range of subjects, with a series of activities at Central Library, Snow Hill, and at branch libraries across the city.

Central Library's Health and Wellness Space will be hosting an alcohol awareness session as part of Alcohol Awareness Week next Monday 3 July from 10am to 2pm, Gathering Press, a screen printing wellbeing activity led by University of Wolverhampton lecturer in fine art Laura Onions, on Tuesday 4 July from 11am to 1pm, Prepare to save: managing fuel poverty with Warmer Homes West Midlands on Tuesday 4 July from 2 to 4pm and a sickle cell awareness session with the Sickle Cell & Thalassemia Support Project on Wednesday 5 July from 10 to 12.30pm.

There will also be a managing stress activity with Wolves Foundation on Wednesday 5 July from 2 to 3.30pm, a talk and creative activities by Hospital Rooms, an arts and mental health charity which transforms in-patient mental health units using contemporary art, from 10.30am to 12.30pm on Thursday 6 July, and a session on managing your health online on Thursday 6 July from 10am to noon, the latter of which will take place in the Children’s Library.

Activities at branch libraries include a session on managing your health online at Long Knowle Library on Monday 3 July from noon to 1pm, a stress management workshop with Wolverhampton Talking Therapies at Penn Library on Tuesday 4 July from 2.15 to 3.30pm and Poetry on Loan at Tettenhall Library on Wednesday 5 July from 2.30 to 3.30pm.

Further sickle cell awareness sessions with the Sickle Cell & Thalassemia Support Project will be held at Whitmore Reans Library on Tuesday 4 July from 11am to 1pm, Spring Vale Library on Wednesday 5 July from 2 to 4pm and the Bob Jones Community Hub on Thursday 6 July from 11am to 1pm. The Bob Jones Community Hub will also host an alcohol awareness session on Wednesday 5 July from 10am to 2pm.

The popular Baby Book Times taking pace at various branches during the week will be accompanied by a Public Health drop-in session covering areas such as the Healthy Start scheme, immunisations and vitamins. These take place at Central Children’s Library on Tuesday 4 July from 10.30am to 11.30am, Bilston Library on Wednesday 5 July from 11am to 11.30am, Penn Library on Thursday 6 July from 2.15 to 3pm and Springvale Library on Friday 7 July from 10am to 10.45am.

And there will be 2 health and wellness themed Storytimes, at Bilston Library on Wednesday 5 July from 11 to 11.30am and Central Library on Saturday 8 July from 12.15 to 1pm.

Meanwhile, Central Library will be the starting point for Wellbeing City Walking Tours on Thursday 6 July and Friday 7 July, both of which will take place between 11am and 12.30pm.
