Carers in Wolverhampton are being given the chance to take tea with the Mayor as part of this year's Carers Week celebrations.

Councillor Milkinder Jaspal, the Mayor of Wolverhampton, will be joined by dozens of local people who care for a relative or friend at the free event in the Mayor's Parlour on Friday 14 June, 2013, where they will be able to enjoy a range of light refreshments.

Councillor Jaspal said: "We estimate that there are more than 27,000 carers in our city who look after a loved one. They do an absolutely tremendous job and I'm very much looking forward to meeting some of them next month."

Booking is essential as places are limited. Carers who wish to take part are urged to reserve their place now by calling 01902 553429 or 01902 553409.
