Christmas Toy Appeal
In the spirit of Christmas the city council is once again running its popular charity gift appeal.
Last year scores of toys, games and gifts were donated by warm-hearted council staff and these were distributed at The Haven.
This is a refuge for women and children who have been affected by domestic violence and homelessness, and the generosity of the staff at the city council was very well received.
This year the city council is opening up the appeal to the public and once again collecting gifts on behalf of The Haven.
If you have any unwanted new toys or gifts, please consider bringing them to one of the collection points at the Civic Centre, the Art Gallery or the Visitor Information Centre in Queen Square.
This year the council is also collecting gifts on behalf of the Little Brother's Homeless project.
This mainly relates to supporting homeless men and so toiletries, including soap, disposable razors, shower gel and new towels, as well as selection boxes would be very welcome.
Please give what you can. Even the smallest item can help make the difference, and make Christmas just a little merrier for all. Thank you.
