Wolverhampton City Marathon 2008

Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon 2008

West Park and the streets of the city will play host to the 2008 Wolverhampton City Marathon events on Sunday 7 September.

Originally held in 1982 and then resurrected as an annual event from 1998, the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon Events attract thousands of runners, cyclists and disabled athletes.

A cycle event, half marathon including wheelchairs, relay team event and childrens mini marathon are also being held along with the full marathon event on Sunday 7 September 2008 starting and finishing at West Park, Wolverhampton.

Event timetable

The Marathon events include :

  • Half Marathon Wheelchairs (13.1 miles) starting at 9.15am
  • 15k Cycle Event starting at 9.20am
  • Half Marathon Relay Challenge (5 team members each running approx 2.5 miles) starting at 9.25am
  • Full Marathon (26.2 miles) and Half Marathon (13.1 miles) starting at 9.30am.

All events start and finish from West Park, Wolverhampton.

Participants can also enter online via the Runner's World website.

Please note that the closing date for postal entries is Friday 29 August 2008.

However late entries will be accepted for all events (excluding the Relay Challenge) at the late entry desk.

The desk will be open in West Park on Saturday 6 September from 12.30pm until 5pm and on Sunday 7 September from 7.30am
