Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon 2009

West Park and the streets of the city will play host to the 2009 Wolverhampton City Marathon events on Sunday 6 September.

Originally held in 1982 and then resurrected as an annual event from 1998, the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon Events attract thousands of runners, cyclists and disabled athletes.

A cycle event including wheelchairs, half marathon , relay team event and childrens mini marathon are also being held along with the full marathon event on Sunday 6 September 2009 starting and finishing at West Park, Wolverhampton.

2009 is the first time the event will use chip timing.

Event timetable

The Marathon events include :

  • 15k Wheelchair event starting at 9.00am
  • 15k Cycle Event starting at 9.05am
  • Half Marathon Relay Challenge (5 team members each running approx 2.5 miles) starting at 9.10am
  • Full Marathon (26.2 miles) and Half Marathon (13.1 miles) starting at 9.15am

All events start and finish from West Park, Wolverhampton.

Please note that the closing date for postal entries is Saturday 29 August 2009.

Deadline for relay challenge is Saturday 29 August, strictly no entries will be taken over race weekend.
