The Community Recreation Healthy Lifestyle Team's role is to help improve the health and well being of Wolverhampton residents.

The team work in partnership with many other service providers including Royal Wolverhampton NHS and Wolverhampton Primary Care Trusts.

The team also have responsibility for Graiseley Community Healthy Living Centre providing exercise, fitness, training and educational opportunities for all ages.

The city faces many challenges but none as great as the inequalities in health. The Healthy Lifestyle Team develop opportunities for residents to participate in regular exercise.

The team are especially keen to encourage new participants to enjoy the many benefits of regular exercise.

Some of the recognised benefit of regular exercise are:

  • improved health, fitness and well-being
  • the opportunity to try a new activity or sport
  • learning new skills
  • meeting new people
  • relief from stress and anxiety
  • fun and enjoying yourself
