Learning

Bantock House is an ideal venue for learning about local and social history at all levels. 

The venue is also ideal for schools to visit for enrichment activities in most curriculum areas, particularly for history, art, design, literacy, science and geography.

The site is fully accessible to visitors with disabilities.

 
 
Multipurpose room

School Visits

Bantock House offers activity and handling sessions, workshops and guided tours for school groups. KS1 & 2 Literacy and Geography education packs are also available.

There are two workshops, a large multi purpose room, a Performance Space with optional tiered seating and a Field Study Centre in the courtyard which can be hired.

Public toilets, a small café, a shop and parking space for two coaches are available on site.

 
 

Education Packs

Literacy Packs for KS1 and KS2

KS1 and KS2 Literacy Packs are available containing stimulating and inventive activities to provide inspiration for writing units to be completed in school.

Our special needs and inclusion pack contains additional photographs for matching exercises.

For Foundation years, our big book ‘Millie the Mouse at Bantock House’ is full of fun as well as learning opportunities.

Activities based on Early Learning Goals and National Literacy Strategy’s framework for teaching.

Mapping Bantock

A geography trail covering skills for KS1 and KS2 is provided by ‘Mapping Bantock,’ a resource pack in which plans and elevations form the basis for various activities around the site.
