Workshop Outline

The Graphic Novel Project will run over 8 weeks.  5 weeks will be dedicated to producing the Graphic Novel.  The other 3 will Library Focus Days with guest speakers providing insights into the world of the Graphic Novel.

Workshop 1 content

  • How to create a graphic novel
  • What are the talents of the participants?
  • Storyboarding and creative writing exercises

Workshop 2 content

  • Allocating the roles and getting started
  • Script techniques
  • Who will be the characters?

Workshop 3 content

  • Agreeing on a story
  • Production meeting

Workshop 4 content

  • Mastering graphic art skills
  • Deadline planning
  • Front cover design

Workshop 5 content

  • Completing the novel!

  • Graphic Novels in Wolverhampton Libraries
  • The importance of teenage representation
