Plans - Central Library
The new design, which has been created to work with the original library design by Henry Hare, is by London Architects Penoyre and Prasad, and has been considered by the Planning Committee and has received full backing from English Heritage, The Victorian Society and the Wolverhampton Civic Society.
Initial work within the Central Library has already begun, it is hoped that the extension and refurbishment work will be completed by 2008
This is an adventurous design, reflecting the new, confident face of the City and responding to the new roles of a 21st Century library service, while maintaining and preserving the heritage of the past, creating a building that will be recognised and used for decades to come.
