Breathing Places
Over the next three years, the BBC, in partnership with libraries and leading wildlife organisations, is aiming to transform thousands of places across the UK, improving them for wildlife and people.
'Green Weeks' at Wolverhampton Libraries
Every season, Wolverhampton Libraries will be hosting a 'Green Week'. Every branch library will be hosting an environmentally themed activity for adults and children alike and will also be displaying relevant material.
Our next 'Green Week' will be taking place 19-24 November 2007 where all Wolverhampton libraries will be hosting environmentally themed activities or displays. Find out more about library events and activities.
What are breathing places?
A breathing place is somewhere you can escape the hassles of everyday life and get your hands dirty; where you can listen to birdsong, admire the bluebells in spring and appreciate the stunning colurs in autumn. Quite simply, it's a place where you and your family and friends can rediscover the wonders of nature.
Where can I get the Breathing Places booklet from?
All libraries in Wolverhampton have been provided with a limited supply of leaflets. In addition, the booklet can be downloaded from the BBC Breathing Places website.
How can I get involved?
Why not visit a breathing place event? Find out what's going on where you live on the breathing places website: www.bbc.co.uk/breathingplaces
You can always set up your own Breathing Place. Collect a Breathing Places leaflet from your local library to find out more - you may also be eligible to apply for lottery funding. There may be local organisations that can help - your library will have a list of clubs and societies in your area that you can get involved with.
