Search engines

Remember ... you can search all Wolverhampton libraries for the books you want online.

How to use a Search Engine

When you don't know the address of a website you are interested in, search engines can help to get you started.

  1. Decide which search engine you would like to choose.
  2. Type a keyword or short phrase into the search box.
  3. Search engine will show you a list of website matches. Select the site you would like to view.
  4. You will now be transferred to the website you have chosen.
  5. When searching something specific, put your keywords in inverted commas e.g. 'fruit bats'. The search engine will only list websites about fruit bats rather than fruit and bats in general.
