How to search for library items
There are many ways of searching for the book or library item you would like.
Ask a member of staff
We can find most books, even if you cannot see them on the shelves of your local library. Just ask a member of staff at the library for help.
Use the library catalogue
The library catalogue is available to help you find the items you are looking for. The catalogue is available online and in all libraries.
Use the catalogue to search for a particular title, author or subject. The catalogue will tell you where the item can be found, and it will also tell you whether it is on loan.
If you would like help using the catalogue in the library please ask! We will show you how to use the catalogue.
Use online search engines
