Publications from Archives and Local Studies

A range of publications is available from Wolverhampton Archives and Local Studies which covers a variety of areas.

11. Wolverhampton in the 1930s and 1940s

This collection of over fifty photographs shows Wolverhampton two generations ago. New housing estates were springing up on the outskirts and new buildings, particularly shops, cinemas and pubs, transformed the centre. The atmosphere of the town in the war years is evocatively captured in contemporary photographs.
