1861 Census Name Index

We were delighted to receive a name index to the 1861 census for Wolverhampton and surrounding districts from one of our volunteers, Pat Galloway.

Pat has spent many years indexing over a million names from parish registers, non-conformist registers and the census.  The 1861 census index, which includes over 130,000 entries is now available in the search room.

We have also added a CD-ROM of the Industrial History of Birmingham & the Midland hardware District 1866 to the searchroom.
