Historians are being encouraged to sign up to an event which aims to unlock secrets from Wolverhampton's past. Amateur historians with a common interest in the city will come together at the third Local History Symposium in February 2009, sharing their research with colleagues and the public.
Wolverhampton Archives and Local Studies, which is again organising the event in partnership with the University of Wolverhampton, is keen to hear from local historians who wish to take part.

The Symposium takes place at Bantock House, Wolverhampton, on Saturday 28th February 2009, and the organisers want submissions from people keen to share their research on a Wolverhampton-related topic.
Chosen speakers will have up to twenty minutes to present their research and answer questions from the audience. A £100 bursary, offered by the  Express and Star to encourage new and significant research into the history of Wolverhampton, will be awarded to one speaker.

The closing date for applicants is Friday 31st October.
Application forms are available by contacting City Archivist David Bishop on 01902 552485,or by completing the form below.
