Indoor and outdoor markets

The market has always played an important part in establishing Wolverhampton as a major shopping centre. This page looks at the markets staged and their opening times.

Indoor market

The current indoor market located in Salop Street provides over 80 units offering customers an unrivalled choice of both traditional and more exotic goods ranging from confectionery to sportswear, specialist foods to material. An Antiques,Bric-a-Brac and Collectables market on 6th Avenue in the General Hall provides the opportunity to browse through if you are looking for that special or unusual present. The separate food hall offers a further 24 stalls with mouth-watering cheese. Meat, poultry and fish all at very reasonable prices.

Outdoor market

Our outdoor market boasts 46 stalls and is regionally famous for the wide choice of fresh fruit and locally grown vegetables, in addition to the general mix of other high quality merchandise.

A major improvement programme including the provision of a new landmark entrance, offering full access for everyone and a new market office to assist customers means there's no better time than now to pay us a visit.

Opening times

Wolverhampton Outdoor Market is open on Monday (bric-a-brac market only) Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday providing over 90 stalls and spaces.

The Indoor Market is open on Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 8.30am to 4.30pm and includes a food hall with 24 specialist food stalls, 88 shop units with a variety of goods which also includes a very unique antiques avenue. 13 shop units fronting Salop Street and School Street complete the markets complex.
