Involving you

There are many ways customers can get involved in shaping Adult Social Care services.

We welcome the opportunity to share with you and provide information about consultation, participation and involvement activities currently taking place throughout the city. We would like to encourage as many people as possible to become involved.

Ways in which people can have their say or get involved

Over 50s Forum

The Over 50s Forum is an independent group that gives older people the chance to have their voice heard and to discuss and highlight older people's issues. It encourages groups and organisations to work together and share information on activities and opportunities for over 50's in Wolverhampton. The forum also looks at policies and services and any issues affecting older people to make sure that the voice of the over 50's is heard.

Older People's Partnership Board

This partnership board is specifically for older people. Representatives include health and social care officers, partners across the council and the Wolverhampton Partnership, representatives from the over 50s forum, black and minority ethnic communities, carers, service users and non users. The purpose of the board is to provide a focus for the development and delivery of all services affecting older people.

Experts by Experience Panel

The Experts by Experience Panel was set up in April 2008. The panel is made up of potential, former and current housing related support service users. The panel was developed to make sure that the voices of those people who are supported by Housing Support services are heard, influence decisions and shape the way services are provided. Meetings are held monthly at the Civic Centre.

Mini Mopp

The Move On Plan Protocol (MOPP) is a Homeless Link initiative which helps people move from short term to more permanent accommodation. A Mini MOPP sub-group was formed in September 2008 and is made up of former and current service users who share an interest in developing and implementing projects in line with the MOPP action plan. Meetings are held quarterly.
