Wolverhampton annual housing conference 2006

Wolverhampton City Council holds an annual housing conference as a key consultation event to share information and knowledge about the key housing issues for Wolverhampton as well as draw from the knowledge and experiences of stakeholders. Find out more about the 2006 conference.

A summary of the event

Councillor Peter Bilson opened the conference to over 100 delegates, who included officers, tenants, voluntary organisations, planners, housing associations and developers.

The theme of the 2006 conference was Sustainability.  Through the delivery of Wolverhampton’s Housing Strategy, Wolverhampton City Council and its partner agencies strive to meet local and regional sustainability targets in a number of ways.  The conference was an opportunity to explore the regional sustainability issues and what these will mean for us in Wolverhampton; for those who live here, those who provide our housing services, and those that plan future developments through regeneration initiatives.

With the aid of the information gathered and ideas stimulated on the day, partners will continue to work to deliver key housing objectives for the City, some of which will be realised by and reviewed at the next Housing Conference in 2007.

Question and answer session

A question time session took place giving delegates the opportunity to ask panel members questions relating to housing sustainability. Click on the PDF document below for an account of the session:
