Wolverhampton Energy Saving Survey

Between spring and summer 2008 around 1,000 local residents were asked their views on saving energy and what steps they already make to reduce their energy use.

The results are now in and a summary of the responses shows just how concerned many people are about rising fuel bills and climate change.

The results

The findings of the survey suggest that local residents are genuinely concerned about rising fuel bills and adopt a number of different strategies to save energy including:

  • only boiling the right amount of water needed when making a cup of tea
  • washing clothes at 30 or 40 degrees
  • drying clothes outdoors rather than in a tumble dryer.
