Physical and sensory disabilities

Our services

We provide a wide range of help and support for people with long-term impairments such as physical and sensory disabilities and their carers.

In this section you will find dedicated pages specifically for those who care for someone who has, or those who have, a physical or sensory disability.

We can help and support:

We can become involved when your physical or sensory disabilities have a serious and long-term effect on your ability to carry out your normal day to day activities.  However, before we can provide help and support we will carry out an assessment of your needs.

If you would like more information about equipment that may be able to help you or someone you know who is disabled, or if you want more information about how you can be assessed by one of our social workers for disabled equipment, you can contact the Neville Garratt Centre for Independent Living.  To find out more about the sort of equipment on offer, visit our dedicated disability equipment page.

These pages also contain information on a range of transport for disabled people, including Ring and Ride, ShopMobility and the blue badge disabled parking scheme.
