Social services
Social Services provides a wide range of support and services to children in need and their families, older people, carers and vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities or mental health needs.
All our services are provided after an assessment of your needs. We have social workers who carry out assessments for children and families and others who assess the needs of adults and carers.
Social Care Programme
The Government says independence, choice and self directed care is the way forward for Adult Social Care, and in Wolverhampton we are meeting that by transforming the way we deliver social care services via the Social Care Programme.
Emergency social work service
We provide an emergency social work service out of office hours. The aim of the service is to deal with crisis situations that cannot wait until the next day.
Crisis situations would include allegations of child abuse, urgent assessment of people with mental health problems or a breakdown of care arrangements for a vulnerable adult or dependant child. The service runs each night and at weekends. The contact numbers are:
