Mental health services

Wolverhampton City Council's Adult Social Care Services provide services to support people with mental health needs and also to help their families.

We try to enable people to live successfully as part of the community.  We work in partnership with people who use our services, carers and voluntary organisations to ensure that a range of services are provided to help a recovery process for people with mental health needs.

Services we offer:

  • Community Mental Health Teams - they provide treatment and intensive support for people in their own homes.  We also have a range of accommodation and a job finding team to help people back to work
  • Mental Health Resource Centres - Corner House in Whitmore Reans and The Croft in Bilston are multi-purpose resource centres which provide a local point of access to services
  • Intensive support - we also provide treatment during a crisis at a centre called Recovery House.

Community Mental Health Teams

The Community Mental Health Teams have a number of people with different skills who can who can help people with mental health needs.

The teams are made up of nurses, social workers, psychologists, doctors and occupational therapists.  They can also arrange for other services like outreach, day care, home treatment, inpatient treatment at Penn Hospital and other specialist services.  Click  for more details about the Community Mental Health Teams.

Our mental health resource centres

We have two resource centres for people with mental health needs in Wolverhampton.  The Croft Resource Centre, which is based in Bilston, and Corner House Resource Centre, in Whitmore Reans, offer a number of services to people who need help.  Both centres open from 8.30am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Recovery House, in Low Hill, provides more intensive support for people with a mental health problem.
