Demonstrations or marches

There are a number of important requirements to consider if you are organising any of the following events:

  • Marches
  • Processions
  • Parades
  • Street parties
  • Fun days
  • Other public events in the street

Notification

Before organising an event in the street you must notify:

  • the Chief Superintendent of Police and
  • the Co-ordinating Director of Regeneration and Transportation.

They will want to check arrangements for public safety and may want other information from you.

Allow time for arrangements

Always allow enough time to contact the key agencies to obtain any approvals you need.

To find out more details about the requirements of organising an event on the public highway please visit the Demonstration and Parades information provided elsewhere on this site.
