Community services - Strike action, July 16 and 17

Community centres

Some community centres will be open for one or both days. Others will be closed. To check the details for your local centre ring the Community Recreation office on 01902 555132.

Funeral services

Funeral services have been cancelled during the strike so there will be no burials or cremations for the two days, but staff will be available to take bookings over the phone or at reception.

Offices at the Civic Centre and Bushbury Crematorium will be open for visitors as usual as will the Bereavement Centre advice service. Cemeteries will be open as usual for visitors.

Register office

No bookings have been taken by the Register Office for wedding ceremonies on the two strike days, but bookings will be taken for future dates from any customers coming to the office.

One room will also be available for registering births and another for deaths. Marriage notifications will continue to be taken.
