Social care programme

Social Care Programme

The Social Care Programme has seen staff working in both adults and children's social care embrace a new state-of-the-art computer system and new ways of working.

Both are designed to streamline and improve the service we offer to our customers.

Transforming the way we provide social care

We are investing £9.3million in the Social Care Programme which will make it easier for you and your family to access social care services and improve the way in which we support the community.

The new computer system, which is called CareFirst and has been supplied by OLM, one of the UK's leading social care technology companies, is designed to help care staff in both adults and children’s social care work more efficiently and flexibly.

A better and more responsive service

We are also changing the way we work to provide adults and children's social care services, including a new single point of access for all adult social care support.  The benefits to you will include a better and more responsive service.

The first phase of Social Care Programme was launched at the end of May 2008, and there will be further developments over the coming months as we aim to improve our service to you still further.

To find out more about the changes affect our services, visit our dedicated pages for adult social care services and children's social care services.
