Walk to explore Ettingshall village's past and future

Released: 13 May 2008

Wolverhampton residents are invited to join the latest of a series of walks exploring the past and future of Ettingshall village.

A walk around the area's parks and canals, looking at the remains of the past and new developments along the way, will be led by Bilston Ramblers on Tuesday May 20.

The walk, organised in partnership with Ettingshall Local Neighbourhood Partnership, starts at 2.30pm and lasts around an hour.

Walkers can meet at the EVCAP Centre in John Street at the start or join and leave as they wish along the route. All ages and abilities are welcome.

Lisa Corbett, from the Ettingshall Local Neighbourhood Partnership said: “As well as exploring the parks and canals, the walk will give people a chance to reminisce about the old times, the Mars Works, the back-to-backs in John Street and the Tin School.

“There are also a number of new developments planned for the coming years in the area and it is important that residents are aware of these too.”

The walk is the latest in a series which began in April.

Bilston Ramblers aim to encourage residents of all ages to get out in the fresh air and learn more about their surroundings. The Ettingshall Local Neighbourhood Partnership is made up of residents, councillors and businesses who work together to improve local services.

For further information please contact Lisa Corbett, Neighbourhood Manager, Ettingshall Local Neighbourhood Partnership, on 01902 550740.
