French market returns to Wolverhampton
Released: 19 March 2008
Fresh bread, crepes, cheese and olives are just some of the delights on offer during the city’s three day French market this Easter.
More than 20 stalls will bring the flavours and fragrances of France to Dudley Street from tomorrow, Thursday March 20 to Saturday March 22, between 9.30am and 4pm each day.
Stall holders will be tempting shoppers with biscuits, dry fruits and sweets, as well as wooden toys, lavender soap, jewellery, bags and perfume.
Visitors will also be able to try out their French language skills among the friendly stall holders, some of whom have been coming to the city since the market started in 2005. Councillor Pat Byrne, Wolverhampton City Council’s Cabinet Member for the Environment, said: “We’re bringing a little Paris in springtime to Wolverhampton with the French market. “It has proved really popular in previous years with shoppers who love the authentic tastes and flavours of France. I’m delighted to welcome the traders back again.”
