Strawberries and cream

Tennis centre serves up a tasty treat

Released: 20 June 2008

Strawberries and cream will be served up when the Wimbledon tennis championships are celebrated at Aldersley Leisure Village.

Every adult booking a tennis court during the fortnight-long competition taking place at SW19 will be offered a free bowl of strawberries and cream.

Aldersley Leisure Village Manager Alison Compton said: “We wanted to get into the spirit of Wimbledon fortnight and to encourage residents to come along and have a game of tennis.

“Strawberries and cream are synonymous with Wimbledon and we thought it would be an ace idea to give our customers the chance to tuck into a bowl after they finish their game.”

The offer at the Wolverhampton City Council-run facility is available throughout Wimbledon fortnight, which runs from Monday, June 23, until Friday, July 4. Courts cost £3.90 per adult per hour.

For more information or to book a court, please call Aldersley Leisure Village on 01902 556200.
