Dedicated staff from Wolverhampton City Council will be recognised at a special awards ceremony for their efforts in passing exams and training sessions.
Around 190 members of staff will be congratulated on their achievements by Councillor Geoff Foster, Cabinet Member for Adults, and Councillor John Reynolds, Cabinet Member for Leisure and Culture, at the Civic Hall tomorrow, Thursday January 24.
Staff being honoured come from a whole range of services offered by the Adults and Community department, including adult social care, libraries, arts and museums, parks, sport and recreation and adult education.
They will receive recognition for their achievements in a total of 38 different awards, ranging from NVQs to a Masters in education.
Councillor Reynolds said: “I am immensely pleased to congratulate all those staff who have again shown their commitment by undertaking and achieving success through learning opportunities.
“The awards are an important acknowledgement of their continued hard work for the people of Wolverhampton and the council.”
Councillor Foster said: “Our adult social care staff work tirelessly for some of the most vulnerable residents in the city.
“Their training achievements encourage a learning workforce which not only benefits our service users but our staff as well.
“We all strive to achieve the best possible outcomes for people and to be able to do this our staff need the right skills for the job.
”We are committed to helping them continue to learn and grow with us so that they, in turn, can help people to improve their quality of life and life chances.”
