Poetry for Burns' eve
Released: Tuesday, 22 January 2008
Poetry lovers are being encouraged to bring along their favourite Scottish poems to mark Burns’ Eve this Thursday (24 January 2008) at East Park library.
“Friday is the annual celebration of Robert Burns’ life and poetry around the world so we thought we’d have a small commemoration of his writing and that of other Scottish writers,” explained Simon Fletcher, Literature Development Worker for Wolverhampton Libraries.
“Members of the Poetry Readers’ group will share some of their favourite modern Scottish verse and the public are encouraged to bring along and share their favourites,” he added.
The free event starts at 5.30pm and there will be refreshments. Further information is available from Kevin Hudson at East Park Library on 556257 or Simon Fletcher on 01902 552061 or at his simon.fletcher@dial.pipex.com email address.
