Winter wildlife awareness sessions

Released: 11 January 2008

Caring for animals and birds during the cold weather is the subject of three Winter Wildlife Awareness sessions in Wolverhampton. The free events are being run by the city council’s park ranger service.

People can learn how to make their own bird, bat and hedgehog houses and bird feeders. There will also be information about which plants are best to attract and provide a home for wildlife in the garden.

The sessions all run from 10am to 2pm and take place at:

  • Hickman Park -  Wolverhampton Road, Bilston, (meet by the shelter) on Sunday 13 January.
  • West Park - Park Road West, (meet by the tea rooms), Sunday 20 January.
  • Springvale Park - Ettingshall Park Farm Lane, (meet at the football pitch) on Saturday 26 January.

People should wear suitable clothing and footwear. All children should be accompanied by an adult. More information is available by calling park rangers on 01902 550773.

Issued by the press office.
