Panto organised to say thank you

Released: 9 January 2008

Volunteers from Ettingshall and Bilston are being treated to a special one-off theatre performance to say thank-you for their contribution to community initiatives throughout 2007.

Ettingshall and Bilston East local neighbourhood partnerships have organised a free performance of The Adventures of Robin Hood by the Zip Theatre at Springvale Social Club.

Volunteers who have helped with schemes to improve the local area and services in 2007 are being invited to see the pantomime tomorrow, Thursday January 10.

Children from three schools and senior citizens who have been involved in partnership initiatives have also been invited and further places are available for residents from Ettingshall and the east Bilston area.

Imroze Sahota, Ettingshall Neighbourhood Partnership Officer, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer residents and, in particular, those who have volunteered to work with us, the chance to see Zip Theatre’s Robin Hood free of charge.

“Tickets are available for 200 people in total but they are going fast so people interested in seeing the performance are urged to contact their local neighbourhood partnership as soon as possible.”

Entrance for the pantomime, which starts at 7pm, is by ticket only.

Steve Poole, Community Development Worker for Bilston East, added: “We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the Springvale Club in accommodating this event and very much look forward to working with them on our next event.”

Issued by the press office.
