Released: 15 February 2008

Wolverhampton’s new transport and business gateway to one of the Midlands fastest-growing commerce and leisure destinations is taking a step closer to becoming a reality.

Developers are ready to reveal the latest proposals for the £179 million transformation of Wolverhampton city centre Interchange.

Neptune Developments will present the current plans for this 21st century development to the media for a private viewing, prior to a wider public consultation which will take place the following week.

The latest proposals for the Wolverhampton Interchange include:

  • Brand new rail and bus stations
  • Nearly 2,100 new jobs created, 1,100 of which are office based
  • A casino and a four star hotel
  • New shops, restaurants, and  75 apartments
  • A new canal side café quarter
  • 200,000sq ft of new public space connecting Queen Street with the wider city centre

Steve Parry, Managing Director of Neptune Developments said: “This is an exciting opportunity to re-generate a hugely important area of Wolverhampton city centre.

We are creating a space for the public to live, work, shop, eat, visit and enjoy! We are delighted to be involved in a scheme that received such broad public support when it was first announced by our partner Wolverhampton City Council.”

Issued by Neptune Developments.
