Break-in at Bantock House Courtyard Café

Released: 30 April 2008

The popular Courtyard Café at Bantock House is closed today (Wednesday 30 April) following a break-in overnight.

Intruders smashed through a window to gain access. They stole a quantity of drinks and chocolate. The café has been closed today to allow police to investigate the scene and for staff to clean up. It is anticipated that it will reopen tomorrow (Thursday 1 May).

The council is appealing for anyone with information about the break-in to contact West Midlands Police officers at Bilston Street station on 0845 113 5000.

About the Courtyard Café

The Courtyard Café serves a wide selection of hot and cold food and drinks. Filled baguettes, jacket potatoes, lasagne, salads, vegetarian lunches and home made cakes are all great favourites with visitors.

Under normal circumstances, the café is open Tuesday to Sunday and Bank Holiday Mondays from 11am to 5pm (12pm to 4pm during November to March).

Issued by the press office.
