Comedian Frankie Boyle

Frankie joins list of funnymen appearing at Civic Hall

Released: 24 September 2007

Mock the Week funnyman Frankie Boyle is the latest big name to get audiences at Wolverhampton Civic Hall laughing.

Instantly recognisable as arguably the funniest panellist on BBC2's Mock the Week - in addition to his appearances on 8 out of 10 Cats, They Think It's All Over, Law of the Playground and The Live Floor Show - Frankie Boyle is an established name in the world of comedy.

He joins a long line of funnymen who are arriving at the flagship Wolverhampton City Council venue over the coming months, including Alan Carr (now sold out); Ardal O'Hanlon (October 4); Stewart Lee (October 19); Jim Davidson (November 26); Jimmy Carr (December 7 plus an extra date on March 16); Ken Dodd (December 16) and Roy Chubby Brown (December 18 and 19).

Civic Halls Manager Mark Blackstock said: "With Alan Carr having just sold out his show here in November and Jimmy Carr adding an extra date next year, our comedy programme goes from strength to strength.

"So we are very proud to announce that we have another big name gracing the Civic Hall stage next April - all hail the rise of Frankie Boyle."

His gig is on Sunday April 27, and tickets, costing from £12 to £15, are available by calling on 0870 320 7000 or at www.wolvescivic.co.uk.
