Ettingshall ward residents invited to have say

Released: 18 September 2007

Residents from the Ettingshall ward are being given the chance to have a say on the issues that affect the area.

They are invited to the next Ettingshall Local Neighbourhood Partnership meeting to discuss matters including the proposed major residential-led regeneration development scheme at Ward Street.

Dominic Harman, the Managing Director from Persimmon Homes West Midlands, will attend the meeting tomorrow, Wednesday September 19, to talk about and answer questions on how the project is progressing.

Also on the agenda is a discussion about the best places to site three new community recycling centres in the ward.

The meeting will take place at Ettingshall Memorial Hall, Ward Street, starting at 6.30pm.

The partnership would also like to hear from people in the Ettingshall ward who would be interested in representing their neighbourhood, especially those from Parkfield and Rough Hills.

Anyone who would like to get involved in working to improve where they live, influencing decisions being made about the area and helping to shape the way local services are delivered is asked to get in contact with the partnership.

Lisa Corbett, Neighbourhood Manager, said: “We work throughout the Ettingshall ward area and are keen to make sure we are meeting the needs of all residents and businesses.

“We are looking for residents from the Pond Lane, Kent Road and Rough Hills areas in particular to come forward and help us do this.

“However we would ask anyone aware of an issue about crime, health, education or the environment to please get in touch and tell us their story.

“We hold general meetings once every two months, but there are many other ways of getting involved - being part of a special interest group, completing neighbourhood surveys and attending fun days and social events.

“Ideally, every street from All Saints to Millfields will be represented as the partnership progresses further.”

Local neighbourhood partnerships link with existing community networks, making it easier for both residents and services to talk to each other and focus on a planned approach to improving services.

For more information on the Ettingshall meeting or becoming a representative please contact Lisa Corbett on 01902 550740.
