Remembrance Sunday 2007

The city's Observance of Remembrance will take place on 11 November 2007 and will feature a Drumhead Service in St. Peter's Square followed by a service in St. Peter's Collegiate Church.
Parade information
The ceremony will begin with a march through the city centre by detachments from ex-service, service, pre-service units and representatives of local organisations. The parade will leave Wulfruna Street at approximately 10.40am and will be headed by the Band of the West Midlands Fire Service.
Parade route
The route will be: -
- Wulfruna Street
- Prince's Square
- Lichfield Street
- Queen Square
- Exchange Street
- across Cheapside and
- into St. Peter's Square
Outdoor service
The outdoor service will take the form of a Drumhead service (the traditional form for a religious service attended by troops in the field), which will start at 10.58am. The Band of the West Midlands Fire Service will provide the music for the Drumhead Service.
It will include: -
- the Last Post
- two minutes silence
- Reveille and
- bugle calls
Wreath laying
The Civic Wreath will be laid by the Mayor and the Consort at the Cenotaph in St. Peter's Gardens and other units, organisations and members of the public are invited to lay wreathes at that time.
At the end of the Drumhead Service (11.15am approximately) the Mayor will lead the Civic Procession, units and organisations into St. Peter's Church for a Remembrance Service commencing at approximately 11.30am.
The service ends at approximately 12.15pm (midday) after which the Mayor and the Civic Procession will return to the Civic Centre.
Traffic information
Wulfruna Street will be closed to all traffic from 08.30am onwards. Parking will be available in the Civic Centre underground car via park North Street entrance only. Bus services affected by the parade route will be disrupted between 10.35am and 11.00am.
Everyone is welcome as the Mayor and her Consort hope as many members of the public as possible will be able to attend.
