Jeans for Genes day
Released: 15 October 2007
Generous Wolverhampton City Council staff, eager to ditch their suits, helped to raise more than £1,400 for National Jeans for Genes Day.
Organiser, Carla Kennedy, would like to thank staff across the council for putting on their jeans while at work on Friday 5 October and paying £2 each for the pleasure to help raise such a significant amount of money for charity.
The appeal benefits eight national charities which help fund vital research into genetic disorders affecting children and babies.
This is the 11th year that procurement officer Carla has organised the council’s event, during which time over £11,600 has been raised for this worthy cause.
Issued by the press office.
