Music prize for student winner
Released: 14 October 2007
A new University of Wolverhampton student walked off with a trendy prize after finding out about the city’s thriving entertainment scene.
Mat Phillips picked up a limited edition MP3 player after winning the Wolverhampton Entertains free prize draw at the recent Welcome to the West Midlands Information Day aimed at university students.
The event invited new and returning Wolverhampton University students to find out about life in the city – including entertainment and nightlife.
They were given details about events throughout Wolverhampton and were invited to join a mailing list that sends out regular information from a number of venues. Those joining the mailing list were automatically entered into the draw.
Emma Cleary, of Wolverhampton Entertains, said: “Mat’s name was first out of the hat and he received a limited edition Jim Beam MP3 player.
”With all the other entertainment on hand in the city, we only hope that he finds enough time to use it!” The first year Photography student plans on moving to Wolverhampton shortly, rather than commuting from his Coventry home.
To find out more about events across the city - or join the mailing list for the Wolverhampton Entertains venues which include the Civic and Wulfrun Halls, Grand Theatre, Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton Art Gallery and Light House Media Centre, visit Wolverhampton Entertains or call 01902 551069.
