Whitmore Reans library to receive new lighting
Service at Wolverhampton’s Whitmore Reans library will be temporarily disrupted next week whilst essential electrical work takes place.
From Monday 3 December, electricians will move in to the Bargate Drive library building to upgrade the existing lighting system.
Whilst work takes place on Monday 3 December and Tuesday 4 December, the library will be closed to the public.
City Librarian, Karen Lees, explained: “It is unfortunate that we have to temporarily close Whitmore Reans library but we feel sure that borrowers will appreciate the benefits when the library re-opens.
“On a winter’s evening it can be quite dark in the library with our existing lighting and we hope that everyone will enjoy the new lighting, particularly those with sight difficulties. The improved lighting will also be more energy efficient.” she added.
Customers are invited to borrow extra items during this time and those wishing to renew books during the closures can do so by calling the 24 hour renewal line on 01902 552500.
