Man of many faces to show Wolverhampton the stars
Released: 29 November 2007
The original Dead Ringer for hundreds of famous faces is coming to Wolverhampton.
Britain's premier impressionist Jon Culshaw is preparing for a night at Wolverhampton City Council's flagship Civic Hall as part of his eagerly anticipated UK tour.
The star of BBC Two's multi-award winning Dead Ringers has a catalogue of more than 400 voices.
Whether he is making international headlines by calling Downing Street as 'William Hague' and being put straight through to then Prime Minister Tony Blair or wowing audiences on the Royal Variety Show, he has become the benchmark by which all other impressionists are measured.
His masterly mimicry helped turn Dead Ringers from a radio sensation into a worldwide TV hit, and he even found time to star in his own ITV series, The Impressionable Jon Culshaw.
Civic Halls Manager Mark Blackstock said: "No celebrities from the worlds of rock, film, television and politics are safe from Jon's razor sharp wit.
“Where else will you get to see Ozzy Osbourne rubbing shoulders with George Bush, and Simon Cowell and Alan Sugar trying to out-scowl each other?"
Jon Culshaw will be at Wolverhampton Civic Hall on Thursday 24 April, and tickets are on sale now, priced £21.50 from Midland Box Office on 0870 320 7000 or online at the Wolves Civic website. Booking fees apply.
The show contains strong language.
