Released: 26 November 2007
A new £40,000 play area has been officially opened at a Wolverhampton primary school.
The ribbon was cut on the early years play area at Oak Meadow Primary School, Ashmore Park, on Friday 23 November.
The play facility boasts a range of features including a slide, climbing frame, sand area and a covered area. Chair of Governors, John Walklett, cut the ribbon at the grand opening.
Oak Meadow Headteacher Sara Morris said: “We are delighted with this new facility and know that our children will gain knowledge and experience through the activities on offer and hours of enjoyment through their play. “As time goes on, we plan to develop this area by growing plants, adding resources such as wind chimes and by purchasing additional outdoor play equipment.” She added that everyone enjoyed the opening.
“Many thanks to the families who joined us at our grand opening last Friday,” she said. Issued by the press office.
