Discover the treasures of West Park
Released: 19 November 2007
The treasures of Wolverhampton’s award-winning West Park will be revealed during a guided walk this Sunday.
City council park rangers will lead the free walk around the acclaimed Victorian attraction which starts at 11am outside the tearooms.
The informal stroll will give people an opportunity to learn more about the history and importance of the city’s premier park – taking in popular features such as the conservatory, bandstand, clock tower, flower beds and boating lake. There will also be a look at the nature that can be found there including birds and squirrels.
Park ranger Helen Plant said: “There will be ample time after the walk for visitors to ask park staff any questions over a refreshing cup of tea in the restored tearooms. Also available will be several new information leaflets, including a children’s activity sheet and West Park history guide.”
Issued by the press office.
