C’est magnifique! French market returns to Wolverhampton for Easter
Released: March 28 2007
The French are noted the world over for maintaining trim figures whilst indulging in fabulous food. Now residents in Wolverhampton are being invited to share their gastronomic secret at the French Market which makes a welcome return to the city at Easter.
The market will be staged in Dudley Street on Thursday 5 April and will move on to the Market Square on Friday 6 April and Saturday 7 April, 2007.
Shoppers will be treated to special meats, cheeses, wine as well as baguettes which will be baked daily. And the French flavour extends to stalls selling stylish clothing, bags and gifts.
Visitors will be able to try out their French language skills among the friendly stall holders, some of whom have been coming to the city since the market started in 2005.
Cllr Pat Byrne, cabinet member for the environment, said: “We’re bringing a little Paris in springtime to Wolverhampton with the French market. It proved really popular last year with shoppers who love the authentic tastes and flavours of France. I’m delighted to welcome the traders back again.”
