VIP Art Gallery tour for logo competition winners
Released: 16 March 2007
A VIP tour of the new and as yet unopened extension to Wolverhampton Art Gallery was a treat for winners of a logo competition.
Youngsters from across the city had been invited to design a logo around the theme of substance misuse in a joint Wolverhampton City Council and Wolverhampton City Primary Care Trust project.
Sponsored by Bilston Rotary Club, with the first prize of an x-box donated by Rotary Club member Ken Dolman and vouchers for runners up, the competition produced a high standard of entries.
Overall winner was Jericho Wisdom of St. Chad’s Youth Club, second place went to Lakesh Paul, who is also from St.Chad’s Youth Club, with Westley Simpson from Bilston Re-entry third and Scott Miles from The Orchard Centre as fourth runner-up.
The winners, plus guests from Wolverhampton City Council Children and Young People’s Service, Wolverhampton City Primary Care Trust and Bilston Rotary Club, attended a presentation event in the Art Gallery. They then enjoyed a guided preview tour of the next extension to the Art Gallery which will house the city’s renowned Pop Art collection.
Issued by the press office.
