Wolverhampton City Marathon charities for 2007 announced

Released: 5 March 2007

The main organisers, sponsors and supporters of the Carver Wolverhampton City Marathon received official backing from the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Councillor John Davies at the Official Launch of the 2007 event held at the Mayor’s Parlour today.

The date for this years marathon event was announced for Sunday 2nd September and will once again be made possible by local sponsors and supporting authorities including:

  • BBC WM
  • Birmingham Midshires
  • Brindley Honda
  • Carillion
  • Carvers Building Supplies
  • Greggs
  • Leisure Lakes Bikes 
  • Marston’s
  • Nando's (Wolverhampton)
  • Radio Amateurs' Emergency Network
  • St. John Ambulance
  • Tarmac 
  • 107.7 The Wolf 
  • University of Wolverhampton
  • Wolverhampton AdNews
  • West Midlands Police 
  • Wolverhampton City Council. 

The beneficiaries of this years event were also announced as:

  • Wolverhampton Rheumatology Support Group
  • Wolverhampton and Midlands Counties Eye Infirmaries League of Friends
  • St. Anthony's Cheshire Home
  • Mayoral Charity Fund 2007.
 
 

Penny Footman, Volunteer Coordinator for St. Anthony's Cheshire Home was delighted to be a chosen charity for 2007 “St. Anthony’s is thrilled to have been chosen as a beneficiary of the 2007 Carver Wolverhampton Marathon. The funds raised will go a long way towards helping us create a life skills room for all our residents, as well as raising the profile of St. Anthony’s in the local area”.
