More Wolverhampton Entertains competition winners announced
Released: 22 June 2007
The winners of the latest high-flying Wolverhampton Entertains competitions have been announced.
Mrs Gloria Henriques from Wolverhampton has won a pair of theatre tickets after visiting the Wolverhampton Entertains stand at the RAF Cosford Air Show on Sunday 10 June.
Visitors to the stand were given the opportunity to enter a free prize draw to win tickets to see ‘The Rat Pack’ production which opens on Monday 25 June at Wolverhampton Grand Theatre.
Mrs Henriques was selected at random and will be enjoying the highly acclaimed show with a friend next week.
Children visiting the stand also had the chance to enter a competition to decorate their very own paper aeroplane.
Hundreds of entries were received from children aged two to 10 years old. The winner was Alex McGarry, aged nine, from Crewe, who decorated his plane using the Wolverhampton Wanderers colours. His prize was a goody bag full of arts and craft gifts from Wolverhampton Art Gallery.
Wolverhampton Entertains is made up of Wolverhampton Art Gallery, the Civic and Wulfrun Halls, Light House media centre, Wolverhampton Grand Theatre and the Arena Theatre.
Emma Cleary, Project Officer for the group, said: “Going to such events as the air show provides us with great opportunities to tell people face to face about what Wolverhampton has to offer.
“The competitions were really good fun and allowed us to give people who visited our stand information on our events and tell them a bit more about the city if they had never been before.”
Wolverhampton Entertains will be out and about throughout the summer, including this weekend (23 and 24 June) at the West Mid Show in Shrewsbury.
