Funding sources at the touch of a button
Released: 16 July 2007
Information on a huge variety of funding sources is now available at the touch of a button for community and voluntary groups in Wolverhampton.
Wolverhampton City Council has joined forces with GRANTnet to provide a searchable database of funding opportunities on the internet. It lists everything from European Union monies through to lottery awards and charitable trusts.
GRANTnet is free and available via a link from the council’s website - www.wolverhampton.gov.uk/grants
Users simply need to register their details and obtain a password in order to search the comprehensive system to find funds appropriate for their organisation or a particular project.
Councillor Elias Mattu, cabinet member for neighbourhoods and community safety, said: “This is an excellent service and provides information about a wide and varied range of funding bodies especially for voluntary and community groups in the city.
“I know that it can be time-consuming trying to find the right source of funding for your project. The benefit of this service is that it provides information on the current full range of UK and European Union funding in a single searchable database, suitable for all types of organisations.”
GRANTnet also provides details of people and organisations that can assist in the grant application process.
More information on GRANTnet is available by calling Kuldip Khela on 01902 550115 or emailing community.initiatives@wolverhampton.gov.uk
