New entertainment section on Wolverhampton City Council website

Released: 31 January 2007

A new section has been added to the Wolverhampton City Council website to help people find out all the latest information on the exciting range of entertainment events in the city.

Wolverhampton’s top entertainment venues have come together to create the www.wolverhamptonentertains.co.uk web pages on the city council website.

The new section provides a quick and easy way to find out what is happening in Wolverhampton from music, theatre and films to exhibitions and outdoor events.

Wolverhampton Grand Theatre, The Arena Theatre, Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Civic and Wulfrun Halls and Light House Media Centre, which make up Wolverhampton Entertains, have all provided input to ensure visitors to the pages can see a great selection of the entertainment on offer.

People can go directly to the web pages by logging onto www.wolverhamptonentertains.co.uk or look at them while on the city council website, www.wolverhampton.gov.uk, under the Arts and Entertainment section.

Emma Cleary, Wolverhampton Entertains Project Officer said: "We want as many people as possible to be informed of the superb choice of events that Wolverhampton has to offer residents and visitors.

“There is a number of activities to choose from including live music; theatre; comedy; dance; film; art; photography; themed events; accessible performances and many family activities.

“The Wolverhampton Entertains venues have worked together to create the web pages and hope that, by linking in with the council website, we can welcome a huge audience to find out what is going on in one of Britain's newest cities."

By going to www.wolverhamptonentertains.co.uk, visitors can find out about events taking place in the city within the spotlight events section and enter exclusive competitions to win tickets or passes and prizes.

People can also join the mailing list to be kept up-to-date on events and activities at a selection of entertainment venues.

Issued by the press office.
