Wolverhampton libraries' first Green Week
Released: 30 January 2007
Libraries throughout Wolverhampton will be working in partnership with the BBC next week as part of its Breathing Places campaign to encourage people to get involved in nature and their local environment.
Free activities and displays with an environmental theme are taking place at city libraries during the first Green Week hosted by the service, from February 5 to 10.
Paddy Quick, the libraries’ BBC co-ordinator said: “We work closely with the BBC on a number of initiatives and this one has captured everyone’s imagination.
“The library is an ideal place to find out how to get involved in local environmental projects and make the most of the outdoors.
“During Green Week our libraries will be offering themed storytimes, making a bird box sessions, decorating plant pots, and visitors will have the chance to win a digital camera in our ‘Where do you read your library book’ competition.”
Further Green Weeks are planned for later in the year.
